M.Sc. in Computer Science with Concentration in Computer and Communication Systems 

The program is designed for students interested in developing and strengthening their backgrounds in engineering as required for work with computer-integrated systems. Students will also learn more about computerized communications systems.

The curriculum

  • Prerequisites for concentration

Passing grade in Introduction to Computer Communications, a course that is part of the B.Sc. program at MTA, or a similar course at a different academic institution.

Regular degree requirements

  1. Three required courses - 11 credit units
  2. Seminar - 3 credit units
  3. Electives - 21 credit units, of which at least two courses must be theoretical and a maximum of three courses from undergraduate work
  4. Written proficiency exam.
  5. Final project or paper - 10 credit units.

Additional program requirements

  1. Required course: Advanced Issues in Communications - in addition to existing required courses.
  2. As part of the 21 credits of electives, students must take at least 9 credit units from the following list of courses:
    • Computer Communications Workshop (6 credit units)
    • Distributed Systems (3 credit units)
    • Issues in Performance Analysis (3 credit units)
    • Cellular Communications (3 credit units)
    • Computer System Security (3 credit units)
  1. Final project will relate to communications and/or computer systems.
