School of Government and Society
The School of Government and Society at the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo is one of the first schools in Israel in this field. From its establishment, the School has aspired to excellence by adhering to the highest standards, while providing students with the utmost support in order to meet the high standards and preserve a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The School has, from its inception, been identified with innovation, best embodied in its distinctive curriculum which combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The School's faculty is composed of prominent lecturers who are considered experienced experts in their respective fields. The members of the faculty combine theory with real-life practice, and are committed to teaching at the highest level. This commitment enables students to apply and practice the theoretical tools they have acquired, while gaining experience and familiarity with key figures and position holders in the sectors in which they plan to work.
The School offers a BA in Society and Politics with a range of specific minors: International Politics, Civil Society, Political Media, Public Policy and Public Administration. Internships are offered in leading organizations including the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), Amnesty International, Tel Aviv Municipality, Greenpeace, Society for the Protection of Nature, World Zionist Organization, Cameri Theatre, UN Commission on the Status of Women, WUJS, Peres Center for Peace, different government ministries, UN High Commission for Refugees, GO ECO, ARDC (African Refugee Development Center), Association for Civil Rights, Physicians for Human Rights, and more.
Dean of the School of Government and Society – Prof. Naomi Chazan
A former Hebrew University Professor and current Dean of the School of Government and Society at MTA, Prof. Naomi Chazan served as a Knesset Member and Deputy Knesset Speaker for 11 years. She is active in the President's Committee for Reforming the Parliamentary Regime in Israel and is the Chairperson of the New Israel Fund.
